I don’t like the term New Year’s resolution why should you only resolve to do something because it’s New Year?
Goals I feel are something that you should be working towards no matter what time of year it is. Here are the goals that I have set out for myself to achieve during 2018. I am working on plans to achieve these goals – afterall a goal without a plan is a wish!
- Crack this eating thing
- Tone up and build some muscle
- Increase general health and fitness
- Find a job that I really enjoy
- Be more consistent with this blogging and vlogging journey
- Grow my following
- Learn how to work my camera
- Be settled in my flat permanently
- Manage anxiety
- Crack this eating thing.
My diet and nutrition has been at the forefront of my mind for a long time now and this is something which I am really keen to improve on. One of the things I will be implementing this year is to calculate what my macronutrients should be for the day and ensure that I am getting the adequate amount of protein, carbohydrates and fats in for the day and also making sure that I am getting enough micronutrients in.
2. Tone up and build some muscle
Ergh I hate the term tone up , don’t you? But essentially this is to lose body fat and build muscle. This ties in nicely with the first goal eating better and training consistency are the steps I will take to achieve this goal. With anything like this I like its good to make a plan for example saying I’ll go swimming twice a week and attend the time three times too!
3. Increase General Health and Fitness
I feel like I’m repeating myself here but I plan to eat better and also to spent time in the gym which is something that I really enjoy. I am going to look at this objectively with small tasks which will help me to achieve my overall goal
4. Find a job that I really enjoy
I had a fabulous job which I really enjoyed and honestly learned so much and discovered my love for digital marketing. I really want to do more of this in the future and I hope that I am able to find a job that enables me to do a lot more of this and exercise my skills.
5. Be more consistent with this blogging and vlogging journey
Taking the time to create content consistently is high up my list as it is something that I enjoy doing and want to do more of. I find I often have ideas and park them telling myself I don’t have the time or the confidence and then later down the line the momentum is gone. Time to just go for it!
6. Grow my following
This involves been way more active on social media to promote my content. I would like to spend more time working on engagement and quality of content and actually interacting with my followers.
7. Learn how to work my camera
I’m love my camera 2.0 (first one broke so I bought another one). I have watched so many reviews about my camera and it sounds fantastic which is one of the reasons I got it. I can’t wait to explore the different functions and use it to create high quality content.
8. Be settled in my flat permanently
I can’t say this one is really up to me as I’m waiting to hear back from the landlord but I would like to sign to stay in my flat for as long as possible. I feel really at home here and it would be a shame to have to go.
9. Manage anxiety
I want to do so much more this year and I don’t want to feel that anxiety is holding me back from doing the things that I would like to do. For example the thought of driving down to London for different events makes me apprehensive but the thought of travelling down on the train gosh I can’t bare it I just can’t do it. I will be implementing some of the things that I have learned on how to manage my anxiety on a daily basis.
So that’s it – I’ve tried to keep this post fairly brief and there is a Youtube video which I have made about this which you can find here. I’d love to hear what your goals are and how you are getting on with them.
